What exactly is a medical silicone strip?

It is a medical-grade silicone strip, approved by Health Canada, applied to the scar after surgery. It creates a moist and balanced environment that prevents the scar from drying out, keeps it soft, and has a positive effect on scar tissue.

Why wear them after breast surgery?

A scar is not just a cosmetic issue. It can thicken, become raised (hypertrophic), painful, restrict movement, and affect self-esteem. Medical-grade silicone has been proven to significantly reduce the risk of excessive scarring.

When to start and how long to wear it?

Reusable bandages can be worn for up to 23 hours a day after the wound has closed (confirm with your surgeon). They can be used at any time within two years of surgery for best results. After this period, the bandage is no longer considered active, the body has finished healing.
